According to reports, Celtic sources have denied having any interest in Athletic Bilbao striker Borja Viguera amid rumours of a loan move.
Viguera made a name for himself in Spain by scoring 43 goals in 79 appearances for Alavés between 2012 and 2014, and having moved to Bilbao for only one million euros, may have been a cheap option in this transfer window.
The 28-year-old could possibly be on the move after seeing his playing chances limited by the performances of Iñaki Williams, Kike Sola and Aritz Aduriz.
The Spaniard is yet to score a goal this season for the Basque side in six appearances.
In October, Celtic attempted to shore up their attacking options by signing Carlton Cole on a free transfer, but the 32-year-old has only made three substitute appearances so far.
Instead, Leigh Griffiths has been their only main striking option, scoring 20 goals in all competitions so far this season as summer signing Nadir Ciftci, fails to adapt to life at the league champions despite scoring 16 goals last season.
However, Celtic were forced to rely on summer signing Nadir Ciftci in recent times after Griffiths became injured, and with Anthony Stokes seemingly out of the picture and Stefan Scepovic currently on loan at Getafe, they can be light in that department at times.
