Celtic submit bid for Croatian Ivan Mocinic
Celtic have submitted a bid for Croatian midfielder Ivan Mocinic according to reports in Croatia.
The bid is thought to be in the region of €2.7 million for the 22-year-old midfielder who captains HNK Rijeka in Croatian league.
Mocinic has been tracked by Celtic for a month now as Ronny Deila is keen to add to his midfield despite a number of players already in the position.
The holding midfielder made his debut for the national side back in November against Russia in the defensive midfield role.
During his career he has played in a number of positions across the midfield already and has thrived in a holding and a more attacking role.
He would become Celtic’s second Croatian player after centre-back Jozo SImunovic joined on deadline day during the summer for £3.5 million.
As Deila goes in search of Champions League football, it seems Mocinic is one of his highly sought targets to make that possible.
