One of Ronny Deila’s former protégé’s at Stromsgodest could be set to join Celtic from Manchester City.
Bersant Celina was a highly rated youngster in his homeland Norway and could be set for a move up north to link up with his former manager.
The 19-year-old midfielder made his senior debut for the Premier League club against Norwich in the third round of the FA Cup at the weekend and impressed during his five-minute cameo performance.
Ronny Deila and John Collins were spotted at Goodison Park last week and watched on as Everton beat Manchester City 2-1.
Much of the early speculation was about former Hoops player Aiden McGeady, however John Collins ruled out a move for the 29-year-old winger last week.
Instead Deila and Collins met with officials from City to discuss a number of things including Celina, a player the Celtic boss is very familiar with.
According to reports, Celtic are looking to bring the young midfielder on loan for the rest of the season to gain some more first-team experience.
Many Celtic fans are already disgruntled at the club’s transfer policy and a loan move for another young player would only increase anger amongst the fans.
Celtic are set to be rivalled by several Championship clubs for his signature, who would become the third player from City’s ranks to move to the league champions in recent years.
