Nadir Ciftci has from Celtic on loan to Turkish side Eskisehirspor until the end of the season.

The moved was confirmed by Sky Sports reporter Charles Paterson.

The 23-year-old Turkish international has struggled in the Hoops jersey since moving to the club for £1.5 million in the summer from Dundee United.

The striker scored 14 league goals in the Scottish Premiership last season, however, this season has only scored four goals and has only managed starts when first-choice striker Leigh Griffiths has been out injured.

Ciftci has spent the majority of the season on the bench and hasn’t played since Celtic’s 1-0 win at home to Patrick Thistle last month.

Ciftci has previous experience of appearing in the Turkish Super Lig, performing for Kayserispor in 2011, playing eleven times without scoring.

It may well be a wise move to claim game time as competition for attacking places in the team is heating up.

The Hoops are apparently close to signing Colin Kazim-Richards from Feyenoord alongside Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts before the end of the transfer window which will pave the way for Ciftci.
