Celtic manager Ronny Deila will be relieved at the latest injury news from three players at Celtic Park.
Stefan Johansen’s knock isn’t as bad as they originally thought after he was carried off the field at half-time after sustaining a late tackle from Michael Miller.
Johansen was unable to return to the pitch, forcing Ronny Deila to replace the Norwegian international with newly signed striker, Colin Kazim-Richards.
Celtic were able to finish the match convincingly as the Hoops defeated Greenock Morton 3-0, with goals coming from Leigh Griffiths, Gary Mackay-Steven, and Callum McGregor.
Concern from the medical team ascertained that Johansen could have missed Celtic’s league and cup run-in, but is only expected to miss Saturday’s game against Partick Thistle.
Nir Bitton has also returned to training following a fortnight’s absence from the team, missing a total of three games.
The 24-year-old has been out since Celtic’s 3-0 win against Inverness Caley Thistle back last month and should return to full match fitness soon.
There is also positive news for Saidy Janko, who returned to action tonight for Celtic’s development squad against St Mirren after recovering from a serious knee injury and played a total of 45 minutes.
