La Liga side target Izaguirre
Emilio Izaguirre is one of two players being targeted by La Liga side Real Betis this summer.
Celtic left-back Izaguirre is one of two players on the list, the other being Everton defender Brian Oviedo according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.
Izaguirre currently has 18-months left on his current contract and will either be moved on before that ends or leave when it expires next summer.
The Honduran international has fallen out of favour this season under Ronny Deila due to the emergence of 18-year-old Kieran Tierney from the youth academy.
Celtic did receive and offer for Izaguirre in the January transfer window from Getafe, however, it didn’t meet their valuation of the 29-year-old.
His last appearance came against Hamilton as Celtic hammered the Scottish side 8-1 at Paradise and has made just 23 appearances this season.
Since he joined in 2010, Izaguirre has made 222 appearances in the green and white Hoops, scoring five goals and adding 45 assists.
Betis are keen on a new left-back as they look set to lose their impressive Peruvian Juan Manuel Vargas.
The report claims that the 32-year-old is wanted by teams in the Premier League, the Bundesliga and Serie A and that Betis are now drawing up a shortlist to replace the former Fiorentina star.
With Izaguirre falling down the pecking order at Celtic, the defender may look for a move away from Paradise if he fails to break into the first-team again.
