Brendan Rodgers is Celtic’s number one target
Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has held talks with Celtic about taking their vacant manager’s position and is the club’s number one target as they seek a replacement for Ronny Deila, as per a report from Sky Sports.
According to Sky, the 43-year-old met with the Celtic hierarchy last week and is now their number one target.
The report states that another former Premier League manager, Malky Mackay, was also interviewed but the powers-that-be at the club seem to favour a move for Rodgers over the former Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic boss.
Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool just a couple of months into the 2015/16 season after an indifferent start that came on the back of a poor 2014/15 campaign.
Would you like to see Brendan Rodgers as Celtic boss?
Yes
No
Back in 2013/14, he led the Reds to one of the best league seasons they’ve had in two decades but his side couldn’t get over the line and Manchester City pipped them to the league title.
It looks like Rodgers will need to decide if he wants to take over the Scottish Champions or look for another job in England.
Wait for Brendan to put Liam Bridcutt and Mario Balotelli on his wish list for next season. No thanks.
