Rodgers interested in reunion with former Swansea winger
According to the South Wales Evening Post, both Celtic and Rangers have expressed interest in signing former Swansea City winger Gwion Edwards.
The 23-year-old is currently playing his football at Crawley Town, is the subject of interest from the two rivals, who will apparently battle it out for his signature.
Edwards has one-year remaining on his deal at the League Two side, and the former Swansea player has also received interest from MK Dons and Charlton Athletic.
However, it is now being reported that Edwards’ former boss, and new Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers is interested in his services.
Last season, Edwards netted eight times in 48 appearances for Crawley.
At one stage, the Welsh international looked like he was getting close to breaking into Swansea City’s first-team after impressing for the academy, but it never quite worked out for him and he moved on.
After a loan spell with Scottish side St Johnstone, Edwards was then loaned to Crawley from the Welsh side in 2014.
One year later, Edwards signed a permanent deal and it looks like Rodgers has kept tabs on him.
