Celtic make enquiry for 26-goal striker
Celtic are one of the clubs who have made ‘tentative enquiries’ about the availability of Millwall striker Lee Gregory, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Championship sides Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers are also interested in the forward, and after his club missed out on promotion from League One, he could well be looking for a move.
The Lions lost in the play-off final to Barnsley and as such, they’ll have to spend another season in the third tier of English football.
Gregory scored 26 goals in 53 matches in all competitions for Millwall so they’ll be keen to keep him. However, his contract runs out in 2017, so they could well choose to cash in now rather than lose him for free if he decides not to extend his stay at The Den.
The 27-year-old famously played alongside Jamie Vardy for Halifax Town back in 2010, and if he does make the switch to Celtic, the pair could well find themselves playing each other in the Champions League next season.
