Celtic scored three goals in a nine-minute period in the first-half and booked their place in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers.
Patrick Roberts led the way with a goal and an assist, guiding Brendan Rodgers side through to the third round where they will face Astana from Kazakstan.
Mikael Lustig opened the scoring for the home side after several chances were saved by ‘keeper Raul Navas, but he could do nothing about the Swede’s snapshot from 12-yards.
Two minutes later Leigh Griffiths doubled Celtic’s lead from the edge of the area after Roberts’ cut inside and picked out the Hoops talisman for his first goal of the season.
The provider turned goalscorer after linking up with Callum McGregor on the edge of the box on 29 minutes as he curled the ball into the bottom left corner.
Celtic continued to pile on the pressure in the second half in search of more goals but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Here are the player ratings from tonight’s game.
Craig Gordon 6/10
Fans had more to do celebrating the goals than he did tonight in between the posts tonight.
Mikael Lustig 7/10
Did his defensive duties well and as ever popped up with a goal from a set piece after the away side failed to clear the ball.
Erik Sviatchenko 6/10
A lapse in concentration saw on 49 minutes almost proved costly as Lee Casciaro got in behind the defence and fired just wide. Little to do in the game otherwise as Celtic dominated proceedings. Had a good chance to make it four but failed to hit the target from a corner.
Kieran Tierney 6.5/10
Got forward well from the left centre-back position when possible to pin back the Red Imps defence and get the ball into the box. Put in his customary tackle to win the ball back when he got the chance to. Replaced by Ajer midway through the second half.
Patrick Roberts 8.5/10
Three shots on goal inside 13 minutes from good positions blocked. Sharp on the ball and never shy to use his agility and flair to get past players. Did well to set up Griffiths’ goal after cutting inside off the right wing. Terrific third goal after linking up with McGregor on the edge of the box. Continued to impress in the second half and had a handful of chances to get a second goal.
Scott Brown 7/10
Linked the play from defence to attack and didn’t have too much defensive work to do as Celtic dominated possession. Sat back and allowed Tierney and Lustig to move further forward to support the wingers.
Callum McGregor 7.5/10
First real contribution to the game saw his shot deflected onto the crossbar. Poor shot on goal on 19 minutes and didn’t have a good start to the game. Perfectly weighted pass to Roberts for the third goal of the game. Found space between the lines all night and had another chance to score late on.
Stuart Armstrong 6.5/10
Brought down inside the box and was wrongly awarded a free kick. Very poor from corner kicks and repeatedly overhit the ball.
James Forrest 7/10
Started brightly and went at the defence with pace taking players on. Continually got down the line or cut inside and caused problems all night for the Red Imps right-back. Faded from the game a bit as Roberts took control of the game.
Moussa Dembele 6/10
Frustrating night and needed to be sharper with his first touch and getting a shot on goal. Continued to get chances in the game but couldn’t hit the back of the net.
Leigh Griffiths 8/10
Juked past a defender on the by-line and almost picked out a player inside the six-yard box. Scored Celtic’s second within two minutes from outside the box. Worked tenaciously up front to win the ball back and cause the away side’s defence problems. Headed just wide from Lustig’s cross midway through the second half.
SUBS: Kristoffer Ajer 5/10
Replaced Kieran Tierney with 30 minutes remaining in the game. Solid at the back when called upon.
Emilio Izaguirre 5/10
Came on for James Forrest with just under 30 minutes remaining in the game. Was involved down the left wing and got a few crosses into the box.
Nadir Ciftci 3/10
With 15 minutes remaining, he replaced Moussa Dembele but didn’t see much of the ball.
