Every game there will be a decision to make for this position. Rodgers signed Dorus de Vries to play him and after Craig Gordon’s Kung Fu challenge I think he will have to settle for a place on the bench once again.
Cristian Gamboa
Ahead of this Wednesday’s Champions League game, Rodgers will want his players to be confident and trust them, which is why I think Cristian Gamboa will start as celtic will likely play five at the back on Wednesday like they did against Barcelona. Gamboa has an abundance of pace, and hopefully he can improve his defensive side of the game having worked with Rodgers and the Celtic team for a several weeks now.
Kolo Toure
In the heart of the defence i think Kolo Toure could be rested ahead of Wednesday’s game, but I would prefer he started the game and was taken off after an hour or so.
Jozo Simunovic
Alongside Toure, Jozo Simunovic should start once again and has impressed since coming into the side following his lengthy layoff with a knee injury.
Kieran Tierney
At left-back, Kieran Tierney will likely retain his place in the side and look for his first goal of the season after coming close in the two previous games.
Scott Brown
In midfield, the skipper Scott Brown will unsurprisingly start once again and will look to dominate and control the centre of the field.
Nir Bitton
Although he’s been poor in recent games, I think Nir Bitton will return to the starting line-up and will need to put in a good performance if he wants to start on Wednesday.
Ryan Christie
After impressing on Wednesday night off the bench with, Ryan Christie should be given a chance from the start after providing the assist to James Forrest and looking impressive in possession on the left side of midfield.
James Forrest
On the right wing, James Forrst should return to the starting line-up once again as he continue to score or provide assists where as Roberts hasn’t been playing well.
Moussa Dembele
Up front, Leigh Griffiths will have to wait to return to the side due to the form of Moussa Dembele who already has eight goals this season.
Scott Sinclair
On the left wing, Scott Sinclair should return to the starting line-up and try to make it six goals from six games in the league.
