Dembele reveals he’s at Celtic for the long-term
Moussa Dembele has admitted that he has no intentions of leaving Celtic despite interest from Europe’s elite.
A number of clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG and Arsenal have been scouting him due to the 2o-year-old’s impressive start to the season for the Hoops.
Speaking to the Scotsman about his future, the French under-21 international said:
It’s good to know that big clubs are looking at me. I’m focused on Celtic – I don’t listen too much to what anyone is saying about me.
My job is to get Celtic the best results possible and score as many goals as possible. Celtic is the best club for me. Not just for a few years. For a few years and more. That’s why I came here. I didn’t come here to stay just for a few years. I came here for the long term.
My main target in football is to be one of the best, or the best, strikers in the world. Before that happens, I have a lot of things to do and I need to work very hard.
After being released by PSG four years ago, Dembele moved to Fulham was being tracked by a number of top European clubs before he decided to join Celtic and hasn’t looked back since.
With 12 goals already to his name in 17 appearances, Dembele could break the 40-goal mark this season if he continues his impressive form in front of goal.
Dembele will look to continue his impressive run of form today against Motherwell and will look for his third goal in the Champions League group stages when Celtic take on German side Borussia Monchengladbach at Paradise.
