Celtic move closer to appointing new chief scout
Celtic are stepping up their search for a new chief scout and have identified two possible targets following the departure of John Park.
Huddersfield Town’s current head of footballing operations Stuart Webber is the front runner to become the Hoops’ new chief scout.
Ross Wilson, who is currently Southampton’s head of recruitment, is also being touted for the vacant job at Celtic according to the Daily Mail.
Webber started his career at Wrexham before moving to Liverpool as a scout before moving onto QPR and Wolves.
He replaced Wilson at Huddersfield three years ago, who has worked in Scotland previously with Falkirk as a scout as well as Watford and turned down the chance to work at Celtic previously.
Park joined the club in 2007 but the chief scout and head of football development at Celtic left last week to seek a new challenge in his career.
Brendan Rodgers arrival in May shifted their approach in the transfer market, as they signed players familiar to the Irishman and made a shrewd purchase in Moussa Dembele at the beginning of the summer.
