To understand our prediction you need to also need to see the latest team news ahead of the game. Here’s our predicted team in a 4-2-3-1 formation for Sunday afternoon.
Craig Gordon
In goal, Craig Gordon will unsurprisingly retain his place in goal after making some terrific saves on Wednesday and could do little about either goal.
Mikael Lustig
One of the better performances on Wednesday night came from Mikael Lustig and the Swede should retain his place at right-back.
Jozo Simunovic
Kolo Toure became the new whipping boy for some fans in midweek and any mistake in this Sunday’s game would catastrophic. As well as that, Rodgers said he has a slight groin strain, so I would start Jozo Simunovic who has been impressive this season and is more than capable of replacing Toure.
Erik Sviatchenko
After a tough opening 45 minutes against Borussia Monchangladbach, Erik Sviatchenko improved in the second-half and looked much better and should retain his place in the side.
Kieran Tierney
At left-back, another tough European night for Kieran Tierney should be put to the back of the teenagers mind as he looks to continue his impressive domestic performances this season.
Scott Brown
In midfield, the skipper Scott Brown will look to galvanise the squad after the midweek defeat and put in another impressive performance this season.
Liam Henderson
There’s no doubt that Nir Bitton should be dropped after his performance in midweek but there’s several players that could replace him. Callum McGregor came on and looked bright against Monchengladbach however lacks the physicality required for this fixture which is why I would start Liam Henderson. The youngster impressed me against Motherwell and complemented Brown’s game well and wasn’t afraid to put in a tackle.
James Forrest
On the right wing, James Forrest should continue his starting role in the side after a decent outing on Wednesday night and proved to be Celtic’s only consistent attacking threat when he was on the field.
Tom Rogic
In the number 10 role, Tom Rogic didn’t have a game to remember but he is still Celtic’s most potent player in that role as is capable of playing a killer pass at anytime.
Scott Sinclair
After probably his poorest game in a Celtic shirt so far, Scott Sinclair will look to bounce back on Sunday and bag his ninth goal of the season in all competitions.
Moussa Dembele
Some people feel this position is up for grabs however I still feel Moussa Dembele warrants starting the game with 13 goals to his name already this season, three of which came against Rangers.
