Griffiths calls for deadly duo partnership with Dembele
Striker Leigh Griffiths insists he and Moussa Dembele have what it takes to form a frightening partnership up top with one-another.
The Scottish international came on with twenty minutes to go to set Dembele up for an 87th minute winner against Rangers in the League Cup semi-final, with that goal proving to be the winner for the Hoops in a 1-0 win at Hampden Park.
As quoted by the Daily Record after the win against Rangers, Griffiths said:
The times we’ve played together have been limited. But when we have done so we’ve shown we can work well together. We’ve linked up.
The signs are there that we can play together. But it’s up to the manager if he decides to go two up top.
Griffiths’ game-time has been limited since picking up an injury earlier last month, with Dembele making the most of his opportunities since. Though the Edinburgh-born striker is confident that he and his French teammate can form a solid partnership up-front.
Should Dembele and Griffiths play up-front together?
