Rodgers hails matchwinner Dembele
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken of his delight regarding Moussa Dembele’s late winner for his side against Rangers.
Speaking after the game to the media as quoted by Celtic’s official website, Rodgers said:
Leigh looked a real threat and was disappointed he didn’t score but he showed his real unselfish nature by just guiding it into Moussa’s path and he had a real clever finish to give us the winning goal.
Stuart added a real thrust and energy into our game. We’ve played a lot of games this season and because of the nature of how we play the game there’s a high level of physicality needed to press and be aggressive and shorten the pitch.
Dembele took all the plaudits from the match after bagging a last gasp winner to take his Celtic side through to the League Cup final this afternoon.

It was a dominant display from Rodgers’ men, with all of the clear chances falling to them until eventually one was taken by Dembele, who is in superb form.
Leigh Griffiths came off the bench in the second-half and was the catalyst in Dembele’s goal, with a wonderfully weighted ball into the box to find the youngster.
Dembele has now scored 14 goals in his maiden season with Celtic; a record that is only set to improve in the coming games.
