Captain Scott Brown has spoken out about how his own career has benefited since the arrival of manager Brendan Rodgers.

The midfielder has performed fantastically well so far this season, and recently helped the Hoops win the League Cup after defeating Aberdeen 3-0 in the final at Hampden Park.

As quoted by The Herald, the 31-year-old spoke of the impact that Rodgers has made on his career personally by saying:

The manager coming to Celtic is one of the best things that has happened in my career, without a doubt.

He has just brought confidence, game awareness, everyone knowing where they should be for 90 minutes, nobody just standing next to an opponent, you are pulling off at angles.

Every time I’ve got the ball, it’s so easy because I’ve got so many options in front of me, so many players in space.

The skipper also showed a great level of maturity in the Champions League group stages, especially at home, despite his side’s chances of playing European football after Christmas being foiled after Barcelona’s 2-0 win at Parkhead.

Playing against some of Europe’s top players is no easy task, but Brown, who has now been a Celtic player for a total of nine years, played an important role in helping some of the younger players adjust to the big stage.

After clinching the League Cup, Rodgers looks in firm place to be just the third manager in Celtic history to seal a treble. And with the quality in the current team, it would be crazy to rule them out of doing so.
