Ajer to join Kilmarnock for the remainder of the season
Highly-rated youngster Kristoffer Ajer will spend the rest of the season on loan at Kilmarnock.
The 18-year-old Norwegian joined Celtic in the summer after signing a pre-contract agreement in February, but has yet to feature for the first-team in a competitive game – playing just twice in friendlies against Barcelona and Inter Milan last year.
As quoted by the Daily Record on the youngster moving on loan to Rugby Park, Brendan Rodgers said:
Kris will go to Kilmarnock. There were a couple of options but it’s good for him to play there.
He has settled in here so he can go and play there for the rest of the season where we can keep a close eye on him and take him back.
Celtic have started the season well, and remain undefeated domestically in 24 games and with so many players to choose between, chances for Ajer have been few and far between so far.
When Ajer first signed for Celtic, a host of top European clubs were scouting Ajer including PSG, Liverpool, Arsenal and Roma but he turned down a number of clubs to sign for the Glasgow based side.
Former Celtic manager Ronny Deila was instrumental in Ajer signing for the club, and played a big role having shared the same agent with his fellow countryman.
Just don’t take any advice from Boydichenko, Kristoffer!
Boydichenko?
A nickname he earned from when he supposedly broke Henrik Larsson’s record number of goals in Scotland. Boyd has never scored for sevco (or rangers) against celtic. Henke scored many times against EBT FC though!
Ok Steven, but where are you getting the boydichenko name? Seriously man? I ain’t takin the piss. Larson is Swedish not Russian yeah?
I prefer Celtic to rankers by the way. But the famous Ayrshire Killie are my passion✌️?
