Celtic hit Inverness for six as Moussa Dembele scored another hat-trick to put the Hoops into the last eight of the Scottish Cup.
Nir Bitton’s delicate through ball to Mikael Lustig after 20 minutes was met by a stunning first touch and cool finish for his second goal of the season.
A minute before half-time Dembele doubled Celtic’s lead after getting on the end of Forrest’s cut back as the ‘keeper failed to keep the ball going into the net.
On 50 minutes the Frenchman scored his 25th of the season with a cool finish into the corner after Scott Sinclair went down under David Raven’s tackle.
And a minute before the hour mark he headed in his hat-trick after linking up with Forrest once again.
With five minutes remaining Kieran Tierney scored his first of the season with a bullet header and Scott Brown added a sixth in final minute.
Here are the player ratings from today’s game.
Craig Gordon 6/10
Quick off his lime to intercept a through ball. Had nothing else to do in the first-half. Distribution was good in the game.
Mikael Lustig 7.5/10
Opened the scoring with a cool finish after a brilliant first touch. Solid defensively.
Erik Sviatchenko 6.5/10
Strong in the tackle and comfortable in defence.
Dedryck Boyata 6.5/10
Comfortable in possession and won his aerial battles.
Kieran Tierney 7.5/10
Got forward into good positions and defended well. Scored his first of the season with a bullet header.
Scott Brown 7/10
Controlled the midfield and got Celtic on the attack in the first-half with driving runs at the defence. Scored late on with a driven effort into the top corner.
Nir Bitton 7/10
Inch perfect pass in behind the defence to Lustig for the opening goal. Good range of passing on display but gave it away too easily a few times.
Liam Henderson 6.5/10
Decent effort with the outside of his boot in the opening minute. Found good positions between the lines and was taken out on a number of occasions. Number of wasteful efforts on goal from outside the box in the first-half. Decent game overall.
James Forrest 8.5/10
Took on his man several times in one on one situations and found the final ball with a pull back or cross. Good play on the wing to set up Dembele. Brilliant cross to Dembele for the Frenchman’s hat-trick. Could have made it five but fired wide with a good chance.
Scott Sinclair 6.5/10
Decent start to the game but was more prominent defensively doing well to track his man and not leave Tierney exposed. Good turn to beat the defender and went down under the challenge but the ball fell to Dembele who scored.
Moussa Dembele 10/10
Good attacking play and held the ball up well. Wasn’t afraid to drive at the defence either and make things happen. Good play from Forrest’s pass to make it 2-0 before half-time. Scored his 25th of the season with a controlled finish into the corner. Completed his third hat-trick of the season before the hour.
Callum McGregor N/A
Came on for Henderson with 24 minutes remaining in the game.
