Celtic have announced the arrival of Lee Congerton as the new head of recruitment for the club.
He will have responsibility for the management of the club’s player recruitment and scouting operations.
Brendan Rodgers will line up with a former colleague from his days in the Premier League at Chelsea.
During his time at the club he was the Chief Scout in one of their most successful periods and helped scout current Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge amongst others working alongside the Irishman.
Congerton is known to the Celtic hierarchy after he was part of the negotiating team that lured Adam Matthews to Sunderland in 2015.
Paul Mitchell and Stuart Webber were also under consideration for the vacant position, however Congerton was a strong favourite due to his previous encounters with Rodgers.
His side are unbeaten in all domestic competitions this season and with the league title all but mathematically secured, the Hoops are just two games from a domestic treble.
