Celtic held on to secure three points at Dens Park and move within one game of securing a sixth consecutive league title.
Brendan Rodgers’ side were frustrated for large parts of the first-half as they struggled to break down a compact Dundee side.
With virtually the last kick of the ball before half-time, Jozo Simunovic got his first goal of the season with a sliced volley that looped into the bottom corner.
James Forrest assisted the first and was on hand once again to set up Celtic’s second on 51 minutes after beating his man down the line and finding Stuart Armstrong inside the box.
In the last three games, both of the Hoops’ centre-back’s have been allowed time on the ball but the lack of options up the field due to the home side’s has left Celtic out of ideas.
El Bakhtaoui came off the bench and scored a stunning goal from distance with 15 minutes remaining.
Here are the player ratings from today’s game.
Craig Gordon 6/10
Rarely called upon during the game but could do nothing about El Bakhtaoui’s goal.
Mikael Lustig 5/10
Let his man cut inside him too easily and was beaten a few times down the line and inside.
Dedryck Boyata 5/10
Struggled once again getting the ball out from defence as Dundee allowed him to have possession. Great header from Armstrong’s corner that was well saved. Got sucked in and was beaten too easily by El Bakhtaoui in midfield in the build up to the Dundee goal.
Jozo Simunovic 8/10
Solid defensively and showed why he deserved to be in the team once again. Got a goal from Forrest’s cross for his first goal of the season.
Kieran Tierney 5/10
Didn’t get forward as much as we are used to seeing him and was a bit sloppy in defence.
Scott Brown 7/10
Dominant in midfield once again and complements Armstrong’s game well in midfield.
Stuart Armstrong 7.5/10
Great deliveries into the box and was dynamic in midfield once again covering ground to defend and support the attack. Great header from Forrest’s cross to double Celtic’s lead.
Callum McGregor 6.5/10
Decent game in midfield on his 100th appearance. Played the ball with pace and when he could get hold of it in space he caused problems for the Dundee defence. Good cross into Sinclair who completely misjudged the cross.
James Forrest 8/10
Good play to win the ball and skip past a defender before crossing it to Simunovic. Beat his man once again and picked out Armstrong inside the box.
Scott Sinclair 4/10
Fired well over the bar from a good position inside the box in the first half. Another poor showing and needs the international break to recover and prepare for the remainder of the season.
Moussa Dembele 4/10
Quiet in the game once again as he didn’t get the service that seen him score 12 in his last eight games.
Eboue Kouassi N/A
Strong in the tackle but didn’t get too many chances to display what he can do on the ball.
Patrick Roberts 5/10
Came off the bench once again but didn’t have the desired impact. Got on the ball at went at defenders but conceded possession.
Erik Sviatchenko N/A
Came on for Sinclair to see out the game with seven minutes remaining.
