Patrick Roberts’ stunning goal was cancelled out by penalty after a blatant dive as Celtic’s extended their unbeaten run to 40 games in domestic football.

James Forrest came close to opening the scoring but saw his shot inside the box blocked, and almost picked out Dembele a minute later in the six yard box only to be denied again by a good defensive block.

Kieran Tierney gave Celtic the lead on 33 minutes with a brilliant strike from 25-yards into the bottom right corner which gave Scott Fox flat-footed between the posts.

Four minutes later County had a good chance Tim Chow had a good chance to score but couldn’t connect with the ball and his tame shot bounced into Craig Gordon’s arms.

On 50 minutes Michael Gardyne equalised with a brilliant header from a cross whipped in by on the left wing which Erik Sviatchenko misjudged.

Roberts came off the bench and on 77 minutes put Celtic ahead with a cool finish.
