Joe Bryan has emerged through the ranks at Bristol City and established himself as one of the best young fullbacks in the English Football League today.

The 23-year-old is on the radar of a number of clubs up and down Britain and Celtic are amongst those interested in signing the defender, according to the Daily Star.

Brendan Rodgers wants to add depth to his squad and with Emilio Izaguirre only expected to remain at Celtic for one more season, the Bhoys could do with another body at left-back for the years to come.

Celtic aren’t alone in their pursuit of the defender, as Championship side Middlesbrough are also keen on signing him.

Premier League outfit Burnley are preparing a £3m bid for the fullback this summer as they look to steal a march on other interested clubs in the race to sign Bryan.

This will be a summer of strengthening the squad as opposed to allowing key players to leave Celtic Park and Rodgers believes that Bryan, who can play in midfield as well, would be a welcome addition.
