Scott Sinclair has urged his former Swansea team-mate Steven Caulker to join Celtic this summer.

The Mail Online reports that Sinclair believes the defender would be a great addition to the Celtic squad.

Speaking about a move for Caulker, Sinclair said the deal would be great business for the Scottish champions.

“If Caulks spoke to me, I’d tell him it’s the best place to be. He was terrific that year on loan at Swansea.

“It would be amazing for Caulks to sign here. He would be a great signing. The manager knows him well from Swansea. This is a great club to be at for him as well.

“I really don’t think there would be a better place for Caulks than to come up here and get his football back on track and enjoying it again.”

Reports have linked Celtic with a move for the Queens Park Rangers man, who is widely expected to leave the Championship side this summer.

Caulker has been offered the chance to revive his career by Brendan Rodgers, who is said to be helping the defender with his off the pitch problems.

The defender has been battling depression as well as alcohol and gambling problems, but Celtic could offer him a fresh start.

Rodgers is on the hunt for a new central defender to provide cover for the injured Dedryck Boyata, who could miss up to three months of football through a knee injury.
