He became an important member of the team and played a big role in some of the club’s most iconic moments, such as the 2012/13 Champions League run under Neil Lennon, where the Scottish champions reached the last-16.
The Honduran international was awarded the Scottish Premier League Player of the Year among a number of other awards in his debut season, 2010/11, due to his consistent form and impressive ability.
Despite not playing regularly last season given the form of youngster Kieran Tierney, Izzy leaves on a high given his special relationship formed over the years with the Celtic fans.
Now 31, it’s understandable that he wants to be at a club that allows him to play on a regular basis having made over 250 appearances for Celtic.
