Celtic will make the short trip north to face Partick Thistle on Friday night in their second league game of the season at Firhill Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers’ side went 50 domestic games unbeaten in midweek after a youthful side put five goals past a hopeless Kilmarnock side.

Thistle also progressed in the League Cup, beating St Johnstone 3-0 at MacDiarmid Park, but lost 3-1 in their opening league game of the season to newly promoted side Hibernian.

The Hoops will look for another three points as they chase their seventh league title, and build momentum ahead of Wednesday’s crucial Champions League playoff tie.
