Rodgers: Kieran Tierney doesn’t realise just how good he is
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told TalkSport that defender Kieran Tierney doesn’t realise just how good he is.
The 20-year-old has become a key player in the Celtic side, as well as the Scotland national team and Rodgers was highly complimentary of him, both as a player and as a person.
He said:
Kieran has real qualities and determination. He is one of those old school boys who just works hard every day in training. He doesn’t know how good he actually is, which is really nice. He has no ego!
Rodgers went on to explain just how much his star full-back loves Celtic, and joked that he might find himself getting sent off if he ever scored against Rangers.
He is a huge Celtic fan and if he had scored at the weekend, I don’t know what [he] would have done! He had a shot at goal and I wouldn’t like to see him score against Rangers if he was on a booking that’s for sure!
Tierney’s next game for his boyhood club will be on Wednesday night as Celtic travel to Belgium to face Anderlecht in their second Champions League group game.
Both sides lost convincingly on Matchday One and they will both be looking to bounce back with a victory.
