Celtic winger Patrick Roberts says he would love to emulate Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, as the two sides prepare to meet in the Champions League.
As per the Scottish Herald, Roberts, who was speaking during the international break after being overlooked by the England U21s squad, has cast one eye towards Celtic’s crunch game with Bayern.
With Bayern, we know what they offer. They are a top side and they’ll be another tough test.
Arjen Robben’s got that technical ability to cut in and put it in the top corner which I try and work on – obviously not to the level that he does – but I will keep working on improving and one day I’ll get there and score goals as routinely as that. I’m sure any winger will tell you about the art of how he has done that.
Celtic travel to Germany after the international break and will be hoping to upset the odds after beating Anderlecht in the group.
Bayern themselves have endured a tough start to the season, which has seen Carlo Ancelotti lose his job with the Bavarian side.
Robben’s Munich currently find themselves second in the Bundesliga, five points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, having drawn twice and lost once in their opening seven games.
Roberts rejected interest from the Premier League over the summer to remain with Celtic and it’s games like this that he will be hoping to show that was the correct decision.
