Boasting a strike duo of Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths, it can be said that Celtic perhaps don’t really need to add another striker into the mix but they continue to be linked with fresh talent.

The Daily Mail report that the Bhoys are among a host of clubs, including defending Premier League champions Chelsea, that are interested in 24-year-old striker Richard Boakye.

Despite being a bit of journeyman throughout his career, Boakye has hit a rich vein of form with Red Star Belgrade, finding the net on 15 occasions in 23 games so far this season.

Celtic could well lose Dembele in the near future, although there have been no signs that the striker wants to leave Celtic and as far as we know he’s happy and enjoying his football in Scotland, but Boakye could be a fitting replacement.

Boakye spent two seasons under Antonio Conte at Juventus after the Italian brought him in but he failed to make an appearance before leaving the club, which could be a factor in his decision making for his next move. Swansea and Crystal Palace are also interested in the striker.
