According to the Evening Times, James Forrest thinks he is in the best form of his life, after impressing in the Champions League and on the international stage.

Forrest has impressed in recent weeks for both Celtic and Scotland against German giants, Bayern Munich and against The Netherlands last Thursday.

Although Celtic won the treble last season where Forrest as a good part of his side’s success, he believes that the short time he’s played this season is his best form ever.

He says the main reason why he’s improved so much over the last 18 months is when he’s come up against the might of European football for Celtic and Scotland.

Forrest said:

Last season was definitely a special season. It was one of my best and more enjoyable.

I think I have kicked on and I am doing even better this season. We are not even halfway through this season and I just want to keep improving.

The more big games I play it will help because it means I will only get better.

You want to play against the best and in big games. It is good I get that opportunity with both Celtic and Scotland.

At Celtic we still have another couple of Champions League games to go, while March is obviously the next big game for Scotland on the international calendar.
