Liam Moore responds to reports linking him with move to Celtic
Reading defender Liam Moore is a reported January transfer target for Celtic and the 24-year-old has admitted that he is aware of the speculation linking him with a move to the Scottish champions.
Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen to add depth to his defence when the winter transfer window opens and he is apparently an admirer of Moore.
When asked about the stories linking him with a move to Celtic Park, he said:
I just try and concentrate on my job. I’m just happy playing football. I always have in the back of my mind those times when I wasn’t getting any game time. That was only two years ago now, I’m lucky and thankful to be here doing what I’m doing and playing games. Speculation comes and so be it, it’s part of the job.
Reading fought off interest from Leeds United to sign Moore from Leicester City back in August 2016 and the move has worked out well for both the player and the club, so the Royals will not be keen to let him leave.
However, if Celtic make a big offer, they may have no choice but to accept but the reported fee of £5miliion seems too low for the Championship side to even consider selling one of their best players.
