Celtic are likely to see a loan bid for Manchester City youngster Phil Foden rejected, the Mirror reported.
Several clubs, including Celtic, are keen on bringing in the 17-year-old on loan in January but Manchester City plan to reject any offers and keep him involved with their first-team squad.
Celtic were linked with a summer move for the player but were unable to complete a loan deal.
Interest has been growing in the youngster after he has failed to make an impact in the first-team squad after a successful summer with England.
However, Pep Guardiola wants to keep him at City with the aim of slowly introducing him into the squad over the new year.
City plan to compete on all four fronts in 2018 and believe Foden will get his chances as the fixture list begins to pile up.
Foden has been named on the bench on several occasions for City this season but only made one appearance as a substitute in the Champions League.
