Celtic progressed to the last-32 of the Europa League despite losing 1-0 on the night to Anderlecht.

Craig Gordon was called into action after just two minutes to deny Sven Kums from just 10-yards out as the away side pressed for an early goal.

Olivier Ntcham made an instant impact off the bench and came close to scoring two minutes into the second half but saw his shot stray wide of the target.

Brendan Rodgers’ switch to three at the back at half-time allowed Celtic to flow with much more purpose in attack through Kieran Tierney down the left flank.

On 52 minutes Jozo Simunovic turned the ball into his own net as the ball was flicked on by Peter Gerkens from Dennis Appiah’s cross as the defender attempted to clear the ball.

The draw for the Europa League last-32 will take place on Monday December 11 at 12pm.
