According to The Daily Mail, the club bottom of the Premiership table, Swansea City, are looking to bring Leigh Griffiths to Wales after struggling for goals in the first half of the season.
The report claims that new manager Carlos Carvalhal is looking for a goalscoring striker and Griffiths who has scored 10 goals domestically and in Europe this season, fits the bill.
There is clear interest in the Scot as numerous other English clubs are keeping tabs on the Celtic striker and MLS side Sporting Kanas City are also rumoured to be looking for a deal that could cost around £7 million.
It has been a difficult season so far for Griffiths who has struggled to get a good run in the side and find his goal scoring form with Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard all vying to the lead the line in Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The two young French attackers have made it hard for Griffiths to match his fine form in the 2015/2016 season when he reached an incredible 40 domestic goals in the one season.
The 27-year-old will have caught many eyes down south in the summer when he rattled in two stunning free kicks for Scotland against England at Hampden in a 2-2 draw and has some deadly finishing and great free kicks in his locker.
However, Celtic may be reluctant to let their hitman move on with their other star striker Moussa Dembele likely to leave either in January or the end of the season with big money offers coming from some top clubs for the 21-year-old.
If Dembele leaves the club, Griffiths may be handed more game time and the chance to get back to his very best.
