Motherwell are set to replace their star man Louis Moult with a loan deal for Celtic’s forgotten striker Nadir Ciftci.
As The Scotsman reports, the Steelmen are close to sealing a January loan deal till the end of the season to add to their attacking options after Moult agreed to a move down south with Preston North End.
The 25-year-old had been out on a 12-month loan at Plymouth Argyle but after just eight appearances for the League 1 side with no goals scored, the deal has been cancelled. Ciftci will now look to get his career back on track in Scotland with Motherwell.
The Parkhead flop has hardly played under Brendan Rodgers and had a previous loan move at Eskisehirspor in Turkey in January 2016. He also went out to Polish side Pogon Szczecin in 2017 but failed to impress and had a real lack of playing time.
Celtic signed Ciftci from Dundee United in 2015 after some impressive displays for the Tangerines, but he never lived up to his previous form. The Turk will be relieved to finally get back on the pitch after a tough couple of years back in the league where he played his best football.
