As Celtic fans eagerly await the debut of January signing Marvin Compper later this month, club captain Scott Brown has spoken glowingly about the Bhoys’ new recruit.
The 32-year-old completed a £1m move from Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig last week and has travelled with the squad to Dubai for a winter training Camp and Brown has been impressed with the centre-backs efforts.
Speaking to Celtic TV, Brown states that Compper has made an instant impact, making an effort to get to know his teammates ahead of the second half of the season.
He came in and he has been very positive. He speaks well and he even understands what I say, which helps! He has come in and joined in with the lads and gone out for dinner with us, so it’s good to get to know the new players who come in.
Brendan Rodgers is expected to oversee a defensive shakeup this month. Following the arrival of Compper, Danish centre-back Erik Sviatchenko is expected to leave the club with FC Copenhagen linked with a move, while there has also been talk that Cristian Gamboa could leave to play more regular football in a World Cup year.
