Tom Rogic rejects new contract with Celtic
Less than 24 hours after their Europa League exit, Celtic have been dealt with a further flow according to reports in Australia.
Midfielder Tom Rogic has just 15 months remaining on his current deal with the Hoops, has turned down a new contract according to Aussie news outlet, SBS.
The 25-year-old has been out injured for the last number of months with a knee injury, and has come on as a substitute in the last two games.
Despite the unquestionable talent he possesses, questions have always remained over his fitness and durability to last a 90-minute high-tempo game under Brendan rodgers.
Rogic is reportedly unhappy with the terms of his new contract, coupled with the arrival of Charly Musonda on an 18-month loan which could limit his playing time.
After an impressive run of form last season, capped off by securing Celtic’s famous treble last May with the winning goal over Aberdeen in the Scottish cup final – Rogic appears to be considering his future in Glasgow.
With the World Cup less than four months away, the Aussie playmaker will be looking to get back to his best ahead of his return to Russia with the national side.
This season Rogic has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 29 appearances.
