Brown hails Celtic’s fighting spirit following win over Rangers
Celtic came out on top in the Glasgow Derby on Sunday afternoon as they defeated rivals Rangers in dramatic fashion.
Impressive goals from Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele brought Celtic level after going behind twice, but they were then reduced to 10 men as Jozo Simunovic was given his marching orders.
The numerical disadvantage did not deter Celtic, though, and a well-taken goal from Odsonne Edouard off the bench handed them a more than satisfying 3-2 win.
Scott Brown played a starring role once again in the age-old derby and he spoke to the club’s official website following the win.
The experienced Celtic star highlighted the team’s character and desire to win the match, while also lauding how they did their talking on the pitch in what was an action-packed encounter.
We always believed we could come here and get the three points and we did that. We went down to 10 men but we dug deep. We have played with 10 men before and won so we knew what we were going to do.
We had to believe in ourselves as we have top-quality players up the park and they scored great goals.
Brown and his Celtic teammates will hope to use this win as further motivation to kick on and end the season on a high.
They talked all week but we do our talking on the park. We always do that. Whether we win or lose, we fight to the last minute and we have won here a few times now and we knew if we could do it even if we had 11 or 10 men.
