Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has been called up to the Norway senior squad for the first time.
Lars Lagerback has named the teenager in his squad for the upcoming friendlies against Australia and Albania later this month.
Ajer has put in some very impressive performances for Celtic as of late and earned pundits for his display in the Glasgow derby as his side defeated Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox.
The 19-year-old has represented Norway at every level from U16s to U21s and should make his full international debut in one of the upcoming friendly games.
Ajer could face Celtic teammate Tom Rogic in the Australia game, which will take place at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.
Ajer had to go out on loan to Kilmarnock for the second half of the last season to get regular game time and he didn’t start this current campaign as part of Brendan Rodgers first choice defence but a combination of poor performances by others and his own impressive displays mean he is now firmly part of the first team.
