Costa Rica boss to meet Brendan Rodgers over Gamboa game time
Costa Rica manager Oscar Ramirez will this week travel to Scotland to meet Brendan Rodgers in a bid to get Christian Gamboa some more playing time.
The Evening Times report that Ramirez will visit Celtic’s training ground on Thursday to have a discussion with both Rodgers and Gamboa.
The trip is one of several European clubs the 53 year old will visit in the near future as he continues preparations for the World Cup this summer.
Gamboa has only made one Celtic appearance since October, when he was part of the side that lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena.
However, he remains a key part of the Costa Rica squad, and played 75 minutes as they overcame Scotland at Hampden Park earlier this campaign.
Mikael Lustig has been a regular at right-back for the Hoops this season, whilst Jack Hendry has also made a number of appearances there.
Gamboa joined Celtic from West Bromwich Albion in 2016, but has been limited to 19 first team appearances for the club. He has over 60 caps for his country.
