When it comes to Celtic legends, one man who has to be considered as one of the most important figures in Hoops history is Billy McNeill.

The Lisbon Lion had a long and storied career at Celtic Park, winning a host of trophies first as captain of the Hoops, and as manager in two different spells.

Of course, what McNeill will be remembered most of all for is captaining the Hoops to the legendary win over Inter Milan in the 1967 European Cup Final, a moment so important to Celtic history that there is a statue on the Celtic Way of McNeill lifting the European Cup.

McNeill had many great moments in his career, he deserves to be remembered as one of the most important figures in Celtic history, as his time at the club spanned around 30 years, and when talking about the greatest players in Hoops history, he has to be right at the top of any list.
