After the excitement of the 4-0 win over Rangers at the weekend, it’s time for another big night at Celtic Park, as the Hoops take on Real Madrid in Celtic’s first match of the Champions League group stages in five years this evening.

What a night it is going to be a at Celtic Park, as the reigning European champions, with the likes of Karim Benzama and Luca Modric in their side come to the East End of Glasgow for the first time since 1980.

It will be a huge test for the Bhoys, but the Hoops should have plenty of confidence for the game after the win over Rangers. What the level of Celtic’s opponents in mind, expect Ange Postecoglu to pick his strongest available side.

In goals will be Joe Hart, and the full-backs will be the usual duo of Greg Taylor and Josip Jurnaovic.

At centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers will start, and with Carl Starfelt missing out due to injury expect Moritz Jenz to get the nod to start in what will be a big test for the player.

In midfield, Callum McGregor will start, and after their performances against Rangers, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley will make up the trio of midfielders for the Bhoys.

Up front, the good news for Celtic is that Kyogo is available after suffering his shoulder injury against Rangers, so expect him to be the loan striker with Jota and Liel Abada on the wings.

That line-up will give the Hoops the best chance of getting a result against the European champions. It will be very tough, but you rarely get to play Real Madrid, so Celtic should just give it a go and see what happens on the night.
