Ahead of the launch of his new book ‘Ronny’s Roar’ a book that takes a look at his first season in charge at Celtic, manager Ronny Deila spoke to the media about last’s night game, via Celtic’s Twitter account.
Celtic squandered a number of chances in the first-half after Leigh Griffiths struck early on to give Celtic the lead. After wasting several chances, Killie striker Josh Magennis prodded home an equaliser just before half-time.
Nir Bitton’s wonder strike gave Celtic the lead again only to see their efforts in vain after Izaguirre gave away a penalty, that was expertly chipped down the middle by Danny Higginbotham.
“We played a lot of good football last night, but we need to stay together as a unit and stay switched on,” Deila said on last night’s performance.
“We need to get back on track on Saturday. I want a disciplined, organised team and that’s why we conceded goals and chances.”
On the topic of any potential signings for Celtic, Deila has this to say about any arrivals.
“Celtic are after good footballers and we are looking all over the world to get players that can get us to a high level.” And hopefully we can sign players in this window that can make us even better.
“At the moment things are speculation. September 1st is the deadline for everything so we will see what kind of squad we have then.”
Champions League football is a factor that will affect any player’s decision in joining or leaving the club.
“Of course, if we make it into the UEFA Champions League it’s easier to get good players and you need to make yourself ready to play in the Champions League.”
