James Forrest is revelling under Ronny Delia’s decision to regularly change the attacking players in the Celtic line-up.
The winger has fought his way back into the starting team and laid down a marker on Wednesday with an impressive display for an hour against Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.
Speaking to the media at Lennoxtown for the launch of Celtic’s new Euro kit, via Celtic’s twitter account, Forrest said: “The gaffer likes to change the attacking players to keep things fresh.”
“The last six or seven months have been much better for me and I just want to keep going like that.
“You just need to get on with it and show what you can do in training and games when you get a chance.”
Forrest has been hampered with niggling injuries in recent seasons that have kept him out of securing a permanent place in the starting XI. and the 24-year-old could benefit from the rotation Deila is implementing with the attacking players.
With the packed schedule in the early part of the season and over the Christmas period, Forrest is happy to play whenever Deila calls his name.
“Since we’ve come back from pre-season we’ve had a game every three days. There is competition for places, but everyone wants to play.”
The Scot is growing in confidence over the last number of months and is happy with his form going into the crucial part of Celtic’s season to secure Champions League football.
“The last six or seven months have been much better for me and I just want to keep going like that.
“The Champions League standard is really high and if I’m playing there then it’ll help Scotland as well.
