After being unveiled at Celtic Park yesterday in front of the fans, Scott Allan has said the move to Celtic was a no-brainer.
The 23-year-old walked out to rapturous applause, admitting that the Celtic crowd were a different class, via Celtic’s official website. The Scot watched on from the stands as Celtic cruised to a 4-2 victory over Inverness CT.
“It was an emotional experience. It was different class,” said Allan.
“Walking down the tunnel gives you goosebumps, just seeing the size of the stadium. Now I just can’t wait to go out and perform. It was an unbelievable experience.
“It was a no brainer coming here. It’s a huge club, playing in the Premiership again and on the European stage and it is a chance to play and train with great players.
“I want to concentrate on my football and become a better player and I want to develop and get myself into the starting line-up.
“I just want to thank the Celtic supporters for my welcome and I want them to know I’ll always remember it. Now I can hopefully give them some good moments on the pitch.”
Allan completed his move to Celtic late on Friday, signing a four-year deal from the Hibs and selecting the No19 squad number.
Allan became Ronny Deila’s fifth signing of the summer, following Dedryck Boyata, Saidy Janko, Logan Bailly and Nadir Ciftci to Celtic Park.
The former Hibernian midfielder enjoyed a successful season at the Edinburgh club, where he was named the Scottish Championship PFA Player of the Year.
As a self-confessed Rangers fan, Allan was tipped to make a move to the other side of Glasgow to Hibs Championship rivals Rangers, but the Edinburgh outfit refused to sell any player to a direct rival.
Upon his arrival to Celtic Park, Rangers fans took to Twitter to voice their displeasure, but Allan also had a message for those disrespectful ‘fans’.
