Celtic manager Ronny Deila spoke to the media before Celtic’s crucial first-leg match against Malmo tomorrow night in Celtic Park.
The Norwegian will be hoping to replicate the success of his predecessor Neil Lennon who reached the Champions League group stages on two occasions.
Last season, Deila’s Celtic side crumbled under the big lights against Maribor looking like a shadow of the gritty hard working team Lennon created fro European nights. They also failed to adapt their style away from home when they entered the Europa League and often conceded three goals for playing too expansive.
One year on, Celtic have found a system that has worked in Europe for grinding out results, as shown in the previous round against Qarabag.
Ahead of the game Ronny Deila spoke to the media feeling confident ahead of the game, via Celtic’s official Twitter account.
I’m feeling great, good preparation from a good game on Saturday. Everything is possible now.
The most important thing is to win and get a good result. Getting a clean sheet is also very important in European football.
We have done very good defensive work in Euro matches so far & if we do what we did against Qarabag again we have a good chance.
We have had a good season so far and we are very well prepared for the game tomorrow and really looking forward to it.
Malmo have done very well in the last three years and I have a big respect for the club.
We want to get into the Champions League. That is the goal and now we are two games away from reaching it. I trust my team and it’s in good shape and has a lot of confidence.
