Scott Allan has only just signed for Celtic but is already relishing the opportunity to play alongside and against some of the best players in the world.
Allan was speaking in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View Scottish international said:
As I’ve said before, it was the chance to step up a league and the chance of European football so coming here was an easy decision. I think if I could look back a few years and say that at 23 I’d have the chance to sign for Celtic, I’d have bitten your hand off.
The 23-year old signed from Hibernian for a reported fee of £275,000 on a four-year deal worth around £10,000 per week. He is ready to go for Ronny Deila and Celtic and the youngester could even make an appearance against Dundee United this weekend with the second-leg against Malmo in mind for the Norwegian.
I’m raring to go and start playing my football now, getting my head down and working hard to try and get myself into the team.
I just hope I can come in and offer something different,” he said. “Celtic play quick on the break and there is a lot of pace in the team. When you’ve got that pace in the team and with people making runs, it’s easier to make the passes so that will suit me.
Watching the game against Inverness has whetted my appetite and given me that extra bit of eagerness to get in the team and show what I can do. I’m sure if I work hard I’ll get the chance and if it comes I’ll take it.
Despite the step up the midfielder isn’t phased by the challenge ahead of him to break into the first team.
This is where I can develop as a player and take my game to the next level and this is the right club for me. I can bring creativity and I can go by players and, hopefully, add goals.
Allan has plenty of experience both north and south of the border since his first professional start in July 2011 for Dundee United at 19-years-old in a win over Hearts. Having spent a brief spell on loan at several English clubs from West Brom, he returned to Scotland in the summer of 2014 signing a two-year deal with Hibernian.
