Another Premier league club has joined the ever-growing list of teams looking to sign Celtic centre-back Virgil Van Dijk.
The Dutchman is likely on his way out of Celtic Park after next Tuesday’s second-leg playoff regardless of their status in Europe after that game in Sweden. This news comes after Celtic scout David Moss revealed he was departing from Paradise before the current transfer window closes.
Van Dijk is being linked with yet another Premier league club, this time it is Stoke City prowling at the 24-year-old according to the Express. The Midlands side are reportedly looking to make a late move to tempt the defender with Southampton already linked to his signature.
Mark Hughes is on the lookout for another centre-back with captain Ryan Shawcross sidelined for at least three months after undergoing back surgery on his back.
As far as Celtic are concerned, Van Dijk’s talent meant he was never a mainstay at the club and was eventually going to move on. With another Premier League side linked to the ever-reliable Dutchman, it could drive up price tag even further.
