Celtic have reportedly sent scouts to watch Mali striker Moussa Marega for Portuguese side Maritimo.
That’s according to the Daily Record, who say, representatives are understood to have assessed the Mali international in a Portuguese League match against Uniao de Madeira last weekend.
The 24-year-old only joined Maritimo from Esperance de Tunis in February this year, scoring seven goals in 14 games for the Portuguese outfit.
Having previously played in France a move to the Hoops would offer the French-born to ply his trade against some of the best teams in Europe, should Celtic qualifying for the Champions League group stages.
Marega would become manager Ronny Deila’s sixth signing of the summer and will compete for a place in the Celtic team with the prolific Leigh Griffiths and Nadir Ciftci who signed from Dundee United earlier this summer.
Celtic could make a move for him should their other reported targets Gary Hooper and Michu opt not to sign for Celtic.
