After Wednesday night’s win over Malmo, Celtic must now turn their attention back to domestic proceedings and Dundee United tomorrow in the early kick-off.
The late goal and injury to Lustig was a blow to a very good Celtic performance on the night. Manager Ronny Deila commented on the latter and as quoted by Celtic’s official twitter account, saying:
It doesn’t seem to be as serious as we thought in the beginning. He has a chance on Tuesday.
Deila was happy with Celtic’s result on Wednesday and reiterated to those who missed the, what the result was on the night.
It was a fair game and as I can remember we won 3-2 so that was a result that we are happy with. I’ve seen the game again and I don’t see any trouble in the game.
The first half was very good. Everybody was disappointed when we conceded the last goal, even though we won.
It was a fantastic game on Wednesday and the fans were unbelievable. I just want to thank them for what they did. It was so important.
Celtic took and early two goal advantage after Johansen threaded the ball perfectly into an unmarked Leigh Griffiths inside the box and slotted the ball past the Malmo ‘keeper. Bitton added a second through a corner when he found himself unmarked and got on the end of another brilliant pass from the Norwegian Johansen.
The sucker punch came from former Hoops flop Berget, not once, but twice in the second-half all due to Celtic’s slack defending to clear the ball and not marking properly from a corner in the closing minute of the game. Griffiths hard work on the night was rewarded and commended as he headed home a second goal with Berget’s brace either side of Celtic’s third on the night.
On the game tomorrow against Dundee United, Deila said:
Our squad is the biggest and strongest in the league. It’s important to use it wisely. We want to win tomorrow.
